Luis Diaz will take the iconic number 7 shirt next season after the departure of James Milner.
The number was worn by many of the Liverpool greats over the years, from Billy Liddell to Kevin Keegan and Sir Kenny Dalglish, but let’s not forget Harry Kewell and Vladimir Smicer.
That leaves the number 23 vacant for a new player. It was Jamie Carragher’s number for many years and it would make sense for a new defender to take it on.
