Salah set to stay at Liverpool

Mo Salah‘s future has been the subject of much debate lately and intensified following the touchline fracas with Jurgen Klopp at West Ham on Saturday.

With Klopp leaving in the summer and incoming head coach Arne Slot expected to make changes to the squad, it seems likely that the Reds will cash in on their prize asset, with Saudi Arabia almost certain to be his destination.

However, there is talk that Liverpool are keen to hold onto Salah for at least one more season. According to David Ornstein…

“Salah has given no indication of wanting to exit, which marries with Liverpool’s desire, and it is anticipated he will remain at Anfield.

The Egypt international has continued to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia after Al Ittihad’s pursuit last summer, but the view in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) hierarchy is that Salah wishes to spend another campaign with Liverpool.”

With his current contract expiring next summer, the club are apparently keen to negotiate a new deal that would at least ensure a satisfactory transfer fee when Salah does eventually move on, but the risk is that he will just see out the final year of his contract and head off to Saudi on a free next summer.
