New role for Slot at Liverpool

Arne Slot will be appointed as head coach at Liverpool, rather than manager, according to The Sunday Times.

The 45-year-old Dutchman is currently head coach at Feyenoord and has always held that position.

The plan is for him to focus on coaching the first team while sporting director Richard Hughes will oversee recruitment and other aspects of the club.

This is in contract to Jurgen Klopp who, after the difficult situation with Brendan Rodgers before him, had insisted on having the final say on transfers.
