Klopp pays tribute to Luis Diaz strength of character

Luis Diaz came off the bench to rescue Liverpool with a last-gasp equaliser at Luton Town on Sunday night, and the manager was full of praise for his player as he awaits confirmation about the release of his kidnapped father.

“It’s wonderful, it’s emotional, it’s fantastic, but the real problems aren’t solved because of that,” Klopp said after the 1-1 draw. “We wanted to give Lucho the oportunity to be distracted. He cannot do nothing, he’s waiting all the time, his family are waiting all the time.

“And so he’s trained a few times with us and was in a good mood and that’s good for him. The signes from Colombia are positive, optimistic but the real thing we want to hear didn’t happen yet. We are just waiting for that moment.”
