Liverpool are apparently one of a number of clubs interested in Nocolo Barella.
The 26-year-old Inter Milan midfielder played his part in last week’s Champions League final against Man City and has attracted a fair bit of interest.
Newcastle are also being linked, although Chelsea appear to be frontrunners at the moment, with new boss Mauricio Pochettino looking to rebuild his squad ahead of the new season.
However, Inter have slapped an £80m price tag on their player – £50m more than Newcastle are prepared to pay.
Liverpool are also being linked with both Ryan Gravenberch and Khephren Thuram, so the likelihood of the Reds entering a bidding war for Barella are slim.
