A crucial moment for Liverpool?

With Jordan Henderson and Fabinho supposedly set to move to Audi ahead of the new season, Liverpool may well need more than the two new midfielders they have signed so far in this transfer window.

Henderson looks to be on the verge of linking up with Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq for a rumoured £700k per week, while Fabinho has been left out of the squad for the pre-season training camp in Germany.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister were brought in to replace the departing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.

However, it now look like the first-team squad could be depleted going into the new season in a few weeks time unless more new signings are made.

“Many things are moving around Liverpool in terms of midfield,” said respected football journalist, Fabrizio Romano. “This is a really crucial moment for Liverpool, it’s a revolution.

“They signed Alexis Mac Allister, they signed also Dominik Szoboszlai, but now between Fabinho and Al-Ittihad the agreement is done in terms of the player and under discussion between Liverpool and Al-Ittihad.

“Liverpool are waiting for the official documents to check some details of the payment terms, the instalments, so they’re still very cautious on the process.

“But, the negotiation is very advanced and ongoing. This is why Fabinho’s not with Liverpool in Germany.”
