It was an amazing finish to a frustrating game, but Liverpool’s 2-1 victory at Newcastle on Sunday showed grit and determination, despite going 1-0 down and Virgil van Dijk being sent off. Jurgen Klopp was in high spirits.
“What can I say? It speaks for itself,” he said after the game. “This was a massive performance. This was big, big, big – as big as it can be. Coming here, being 1-0 dowm, red card, centre-half off, captain off and calming the game down in the way we did, that was super smart.”
