Liverpool planning pre-season friendly at Anfield

The usual pre-season preparations have been abandoned because of the delayed season and coronavirus restrictions, but Liverpool are hoping to squeeze in one final warm-up game before the new Premier League season kicks off in two weeks time.

Jurgen Klopp’s squad have only had two pre-season fixtures in Austria, against Stuttgart and Salzburg plus last Saturday’s Community Shield against Arsenal.

The Reds want are trying to arrange a friendly at Anfield next Saturday, although no opponent has yet been announced.

The match will be played behind closed doors and will involve the players who aren’t on UEFA Nations Cup duty with their respective countries.
