Liverpool have moved quickly to sign a new midfielder ahead of Saturday’s home game with Bournemouth.
Wataru Endo has agreed a move from Stuttgart pending a work permit, but the Reds needed to get the paperwork to the Premier League by noon in order for the player to be eligible for this weekend’s fixture.
The 30-year-old midfielder is captain of the Japanese national team and is expected to be in the squad for the Asian Cup in the New Year, so could miss six games for the Reds.
