Klopp reflects on defeat to Real Madrid in Paris ahead of Champions League clash

On the eve of Liverpool’s Champions League game with Real Madrid at Anfield, manager Jurgen Klopp talks about watching back last summer’s final and what he learned from it.

“We played the final in Paris and I didn’t watch it back since then until this weekend,” he told reporters. “Now I know why I didn’t watch it back, but I had to. It was proper torture because we played a good game and we could have won the game but they scored a decisive goal and we didn’t and that was the reason.

“You could see in this game how experienced Madrid is, how little they are fussed when the other team has chances. They don’t lose confidence in one second, they know another chance will come and they defend with legs, so that is what you can learn from them.”
