This is getting tiresome. Once again Liverpool are being linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe in the mainstream media.
What once started out as a joke rumour several years ago has now been simmering away for far too long.
The French striker is into the final six months of his contract with Paris St Germain, so this is the time that agents start spreading gossip in the hope of either attracting the interest of linked clubs or forcing the hand of clubs who are actually intersted in siging their player.
Liverpool are most likely in the first group and any reported transfer links are fictitious but, having said that, we are also hearing talk that Mo Salah could be ready to extend his contract, putting any possible move to Saudi Arabia on hold for another year at least.
Whether or not there is any link between these two stories remains to be seen, but don’t expect the Mbappe to Liverpool headlines to disappear just yet.
