Liverpool Football Club have confirmed that Sven-Goran Eriksson will manage LFC Legends for the game against Ajax at Anfield on 23rd March.
The news comes after the former England manager announced last month that he had terminal cancer and that one of his unfulfilled ambitions had always been to manage Liverpool.
Following a social media campaign by fans and Jurgen Klopp approving the idea, Eriksson will now get his dying wish.
“The former England boss will join a dugout of LFC greats, including Ian Rush, John Barnes and John Aldridge, for the annual LFC Foundation charity match,” said the club.
“All connected with the club and LFC Foundation look forward to warmly welcoming LFC fan Sven and his family to Anfield – and seeing him in the dugout on the day – for a fantastic fundraising occasion.”
