There may or may not have been any substance to the Saul Niguez transfer rumours that have been circulating for the last couple of weeks, but it now looks very unlikely that any move to Liverpool could happen this summer.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are now considering a swap deal involving Saul and Antoine Griezmann, according to reports in the Spanish press.
The 26-year-old midfielder would have been a perfect replacement for Gini Wijnaldum. If talk of a possible move to Barcelona proves to be true then it will put an end to the ‘Better Call Saul’ tabloid headlines once and for all.
