Mohamed Salah has reportedly rejected Liverpool’s request to have a pre-match scan on an undisclosed injury before playing in Egypt’s game against Guinea on Sunday.
The 29-year-old went on to captain the side to a 1-0 victory in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
“Salah was hit by an injury but played through it,” confirmed Egypt manager Ehab Galal.
Despite assurances that Salah intends to remain at Liverpool next season, this appears to be a strange decision and will once again get tongues wagging ahead of the transfer window.
