Origi set for Anfield exit this summer

Transfer rumours surrounding Divock Origi seem to have been going around for several seasons now, but it is starting to look more and more likely that he will be on his way at the end of the season.

AC Milan have been given the green light by their board to sign the Belgian forward on a free transfer this summer.

Despite struggling to break into the first team for much of his eight years at Liverpool, Origi has made a name for himself for being a bit of a ‘supersub’, often coming on to score some very crucial goals over the last few seasons, most notably the ‘corner taken quickly’ goal to beat Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final at Anfield in 2019.

A successful club like Liverpool needs players like Origi – those without the ego that demands to be in the starting XI each week, those that are happy to sit on the bench and wait for their chance to shine. Divock will always be a fan favourite.
