Mo Salah contract concerns

The Sunday papers are filled with stories about Mohamed Salah wanting £500k per-week to stay at Liverpool, with the Daily Mirror appearing to be taking the lead.

The Egyptian King has less than two years of his current £200k per-week deal to run and the club are keen to extend that to avoid interest from other clubs, having already secured contract extensions for Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson in recent weeks.

Contract negotiations are secret, so there is no way of substantiating these press claims, but there is rarely any smoke without fire when players’ agents want to stir up the media and put pressure on a club to do the deal.

This story is likely to keep on running until the transfer window reopens next January.
