December Goal of the Month winner Alexis Mac Allister has spoken about Liverpool’s season so far and the need to keep working to improve during the remaining five months, as they push for the Premier League title, Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
“I think everyone can see how good the people are in the group,” he told the official site. “Our relationship is very good and that helps a lot to achieve things.
“Of course we are halfway and we haven’t won anything yet, so we have to go game by game, keep improving.
“Hopefully at the end of the season we can celebrate some trophies – that’s the idea. But at the same time we know how far it is, so we need to keep working.
“We have very experienced players, we have very good leaders, we have a group of young players that want to improve every single day – and you can see the mentality.
“We know that as a team we need to suffer sometimes and we need to defend sometimes, and from there we can do special things. That’s the idea and that’s what we try to do every single game.”
The Argentinian midfielder picked up the Budweiser Goal of the Month award for December this week, for this effort…

“I’m very happy because there were so many nice goals during this month,”he said. “But thank you to the fans and everyone that voted for this goal to be Goal of the Month.
“It’s not a bad one to be the first at the club! Definitely one of the nicest goals I’ve scored in my career so far. It’s a nice one.
“I think on the pitch I didn’t realise how good it was. Then when I saw the replay, I could see how good it was. Very happy and hopefully many more to come.”
