The reception for Jurgen Klopp was an emotional one at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. The manager was clearly emotional as the Kop sang you’ll Never Walk Alone, but he has reiterated the need to focus on the team for the remaining games of the season.
“I think the atmosphere today, that people obviously showed everything to me and it’s wonderful and I love it and it’s absolutely great,” he said after the match. “That’s unnecessary because I know about it, but I will not say don’t do it anymore.
“People can do what they want, definitely and I mean it, but we need the opposite atmosphere on a pitch and for that we need the crowd. Just don’t think about the manager.
“I’m really sorry that I had to mention that and these kinds of things, but that’s how it is. But now we just have to forget it for a while and just go for each opponent like crazy. And that’s what we want to do, and the next chance we have is on Wednesday.”
