Liverpool picked up three valuable points in Saturday’s early Premier League game at Brighton. Luis Diaz and Mo Salah scored the goals needed to secure the victory.
“It’s always pleasing to come away from home and get the three points,” said captain Jordan Henderson after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over the Seagulls. “Brighton are a good footballing side. I know they’ve lost the last few, but they are always dangerous.
“So it was a really big game for us today. I felt as though we delivered a professional performance, three points on the road and we’re delighted with that.”
When asked about Liverpool’s push for the title, FA Cup and Champions League, there were no surprises in Henderson’s response.
“We speak about this every week but for us it’s the same mindset,” he said. “We’re concentrating on ourselves, concentrate on the next game and that’s the most important.
“I think it’s worked really well for us. The focus has always been the next game, no matter what the competition and give everything in that game so there’s no reason to change that now.
“We know we’ve got to work, we know we’ve got to improve all the time, be better. The teams at the top of the table around us are fantastic teams so you can never relax and take your foot off the gas.
“You’ve always got to push each other, drive each other on and so far we’ve been doing that and we’ve got to continue doing that right until the end.”
