Future Anfield expansion could see capacity reduced

As Liverpool Football Club push ahead with the £80m expansion of the Anfield Road stand which, when completed in time for next season, will add 7,000 more seats and bring Anfield‘s capacity up to 61,000, we could see further development actually reducing that figure.

According to The Mail on Sunday’s Alex Miller, after the Anfield Road stand is completed FSG will look to improve the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand, reconfiguring the areas in the lower tier to give fans more room at a cost to the overall capacity of the stand.

While such a move is likely to annoy some fans, those of us who have had to squeeze into those seats over the last few years will be grateful for the extra space.
