Egyptian FA deny Salah injury

Mo Salah played his part in Egypt’s 1-0 win over Senegal, but looked out of sorts near the end of the game, prompting concerns about his fitness.

Having previously picked up a foot injury during Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Brighton two weeks ago, it could be that he was feeling discomfort. However, the Egyptian FA were quick to respond to suggestions that he is still feeling it and issued the following statement to the press:

“We have no further injury issues for the qualifying tie, all of the rest of the players in the squad travelled to Senegal, and coach Carlos Quieroz has no further injury issues.”

Liverpool fans will now be concerned as the second leg of the World Cup qualifier kicks off on Tuesday evening in Dakar.

Let’s hope Mo is rested, with some massively important Liverpool games coming up next month, including the Champions League quarter-final against Benfica, FA Cup semi-final against Man City and also a huge Premier League game at the Etihad that could well decide the Premier League title.
