Could Beck get a break?

With injuries mounting up, Jurgen Klopp has recalled Owen Beck from his loan spell with Scottish Premiership side, Dundee.

Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are both out injured at the moment and not expected to be back until the end of the month.

Beck has only made one senior appearance for the Reds since stepping up from the Academy in 2020. That was a League Cup game against Preston in October 2021.

He was then sent to Portuguese club Famalicão on loan in July 2022, but was quickly recalled because of lack of first-team action and spent the first half of the 22/23 season on loan at Bolton Wanderers. He only plyed five games for Wanderers in that time and was once again recalled by Liverpool in the New Year.

This season he has been on loan at Dundee and has become a bit of a fan favourite at Dens Park but, once again, Liverpool have recalled Beck.

With League Cup semi-final matches against Fulham either side of a trip to Bournemouth, the Reds are going to need cover for Joe Gomez at left-back. Beck may well be an important player in the matchday squad over the next few weeks and, who knows, maybe this is his chance to shine.
