Roberto Firmino is out of action for at least four weeks with a hamstring injury picked up during Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.
“Losing Bobby Firmino is a blow but that’s how it is,” said Jurgen Klopp during Friday’s pre-West Ham press conference. “It’s a serious injury so we will be talking weeks – more than four?” “We have to see. It’s Bobby and he’s a quick healer.”
Firmino’s absence comes at a time when the injury list is starting to mount at Anfield. James Milner is out long-term while Curtis Jones picked up an eye injury in training and is expected back after the international break, as is Joe Gomez.
