Liverpool fans will be delighted to hear that Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema is doubtful for the Champions League last-16 second-leg tie on Wednesday night.
The 35-year-old striker is struggling with an undisclosed injury and has missed training sessions ahead of the game and it is being reported that manager Carlo Ancelotti is considering leaving him out with El Clasico coming up next Sunday.
However, Benzema has history of having injuries that miraculously disappear before matches. He was supposed to be injured before the first leg at Anfield last month, but ended up playing and scoring two goals in Real’s 5-2 win, so don’t be surprised if he’s not named in the starting XI and causing trouble for the Liverpool defence in the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
